EU timber regulation and FLEGT-Licensed timer.
The EU Timber Regulation and VPAs work together to combat illegal logging and improve forest governance. They are part of the EU’s FLEGT Action Plan.The Regulation came into force on 3 March 2013. It prohibits operators in Europe from placing illegally harvested timber and products derived from illegal timber on the EU market.
